• ABOUT HOMEOPATHY

What is homeopathy?

It is a “holistic” therapy: we have proof that the body has a natural intelligence that our intellect can neither fully grasp nor replicate. What are often seen as problems, diseases and complaints, are actually signs of the body solving an underlying issue. High blood pressure, fevers, high levels of cholesterol in the blood, diabetes, dermatitis, arthritis, shingles: these are all just examples of conditions that people feel “happened” to their bodies and cannot be resolved. In reality, these are ways the body is using to resolve some internal imbalance that would be more life-threatening and cumbersome: if we can see this and support the process, the body will slowly pave the way back to balance and health.

Where does homeopathy come from?

From Greek: “homoios” = “same, similar” and “patheia”=”disease, pathology, suffering”, “Homeopathy” is by now well known as “treating like with like”. It was the German physician Hahnemann (1755-1843) that organised a wealth of knowledge that had been passed down from ancient times and transformed it into a system that has been used all over the world for more than 300 years now, not only on babies, children and adults of all ages, but also successfully on animals and plants. Although German in origin, homeopathy collected wisdom and knowledge from civilisations that were well connected to the rhythms and patterns of Nature.

How does it work?

Simple answer: water! There is a lot of ongoing research, globally, trying to find out how exactly homeopathy works. It seems as though we have been using this system for much longer than we can get our head around it scientifically. Most of the explanation goes into the world of quantum physics. We all know our bodies are mostly made of water, like all the organisms in the living world as we know it. Homeopathic remedies are run up and succussed in water: the particles in the water replicate and echo the structure of the original substance from which the remedies are made and transfer this information into our bodies, through, once again, water. The body then uses this information in whichever way it needs, to bring back the balance. It will prioritise the most internal organs (heart, nerves, blood, digestion), the ones that are more important for life, before addressing the most external ones (skin, hair, nails).

How long does it take?

The longer the “dis-ease”, and symptoms, the slower it will take to reverse. The most amazing results are those that happen during acute episodes. When there is an acute reaction, such as high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or even emotional outbursts, there is a lot of energy involved, therefore more energy available to the body to use the information given. The patient will also experience a faster recovery when remedies and supplements are accompanied by appropriate lifestyle and diet changes.
